Jeffries Blog Post - Week 6
This week was surely a busy one.
First off, we realize a… problem… with the way all dialogue in the game was handled and set up. A problem to the degree that we had to overhaul the entire dialogue system from scratch. It took a bit of elbow grease from the programmers on the team, but it’s now fully functional and implemented. We’ve also created portraits for both the protagonist and Bezel, courtesy of Emma!
On the topic of 2D art assets, we’ve also got an official studio logo now! Say hello to Retro Grade Studios!
Aside from under the hood changes and 2D stuff, we’ve also had several new 3D models constructed to help liven up the venue a little bit. The arcade now looks better than ever!
…And it’s not just because of the new models.
The lighting has been completely overhauled, and not just in the arcade! These changes affect the title screen, the inside of the arcade, and the city surrounding it. Here’s a comparison of before and after the lighting changes.
