Emmaline Dev Blog

Hello! We have made a bunch of new changes for week 3. We have added more art assets including new models, textures, and animations.

Implemented new models for first puzzle

This week the new models for the first puzzle were added to replace the place holder models. The wire models were modeled by Emma, designed and textured by Kaya, and programmed in by Ahmed. The placement of the wires on the arcade were changed from the front to the back of the arcade to be more similar to the placement of opening panels on most real-life arcades.

Added more clue assets for the third puzzle

For the third puzzle we have some manuals and papers assets that are meant to give the player hints for the third puzzle. We decided after getting some feedback to add more ways the player could get hits including some sticky notes that have already been implemented.

Created Various clutter and decorative models

To add more interest to the game we decided to add some extra clutter and decorative assets. We decided to try and keep all the assets based on things from the 80’s to help make the game feel older including things like a cassette tape.

Created animator and new animations for Bezel

This week we worked on giving more animations to Bezel and making it so they can be applied. David created the animator for Bezel and his animations so they can be applied when they are needed. Emma and David both worked on creating some animations for Bezel, with David creating an angry animation, and Emma creating a happy and glitching animation. When animating Bezel we tried to make the animations more cartoon like and cute to make him feel more like a cute game mascot, despite him being the games antagonist.
